Employer Services

Based on our experience treating workers’ compensation patients, we've developed innovative methods and procedures that help reduce employers’ total cost of claim. Some of the unique ways in which we can help to reduce costs for employers are as follows:

1. Education of the Work Force. Educating employees how NOT to get injured is the foundation of cost control measures and one of our chief goals. The message we want to send to the work force is that THEY are responsible for being as fit as they can for the job they intend to perform. We do this formally through informational talks, safety meetings work site assesssments and informally during conversations with the work comp coordinators or contact persons of each employer.

2. Employees are seen on the day of the injury to prevent delays in treatment that could ultimately lead to prolonged recooperation times.

3. Medications and durable medical equipment such as splints and crutches are given to the employee at the time of the visit. They do not need to waste time at the pharmacy standing in line for medications or splints. This cost saving is equivalent to the hourly wage for each employee.

4. Early Return to Work Program.

5. By encouraging and utilizing a modified duty program the employer is able to facilitate the recovery of the injured employee. From numerous studies done, it has been shown that the longer the employee remains out of work, the longer their injury takes to resolve. By allowing employees to modify their duties as they are recovering from an injury, the message being sent is that the employer cares. This has been shown to be the most effectie way to decrease Workers’ Compensation fraud.

6. Communication with the Employer: This is key to containing costs. IF the description of how the injury occurred or when it occurred is inconsistent it may be determined that it is not work related at all or that the employer is only responsible for some part of the injury.

7. Facilitated Referrals Action Physical therapy is co-located with WorkWell for the convenience of the employee. WorkWell facilitates referrals to various specialists by coordinating authorization with the insurance carrier.

8. In house Orthopedics and Physiatry We are able to perform Nerve Conduction tests as well as Electromyography on-site. This decreases the cost per case as there is often a significant waiting period to see various specialists.

Our programs cover the gamut of an employee’s experience: from pre-placement assessments and injury/illness prevention to injury treatment and regulatory compliance.
